Pokazni pridevi (Demonstratives)

Najuobičajeniji pokazni pridevi su THIS i THAT. Oni imaju poseban oblik za množinu: 

Jednina (singular)Množina (plural)
This – ovaj, ova, ovo
That – taj, ta, to 		 these – ovi, ove, ova
those- ti, te, ta

 

Pitanja se postavljaju inverzijom:

  • Is this your book? – Yes, it is/No,it isn't.
  • Are these your books? – Yes, they are/No, they aren't.
  • What is this? – It's a bag.
  • What are those? – They are bags.

 

This i These odnose se na nešto što je blizu po prostoru i vremenu a That i Those na nešto što je udaljenije od osobe koja govori:

  • This building is our school. – Ova zgrada je naša škola.
  • That building is their school. – Ta zgrada je njihova škola.
  • These girls are my daughters. – Ove devojčice su moje ćerke.
  • Those women are beautiful. – One žene su lepe.

 

Ukoliko ispred imenice stoji određena boja stavljamo ispred boje član ''the''.

  • How much is the yellow umbrella? - Koliko košta žuti kišobran?
  • How much are the red shoes? - Koliko koštaju crvene cipele?
